Veronica Mascaro
Veronica Mascaro has been a soloist with many local symphonies and
is a member of the Kennett Symphony Orchestra. In addition to the
Newman-Mascaro Duo, Ms. Mascaro collaborates with pianist Ms.
Kristin Ditlow. In 2003, Ms. Mascaro and Ms. Ditlow released their
first recording titled The Mouquet Collection featuring the works of
Jules Mouquet. She is founder and conductor for the Amore Flute
Quartet, the PA Flute Troop and is owner of The Flute Studio.
Veronica was the winner of the Florida Flute Association (FFA)
"Geoffrey Gilbert" Teacher's Scholarship in 2001 and the Newman-Mascaro
Duo was the 2002 winner of the FFA Geoffrey Gilbert Performer's
Scholarship. Veronica is on faculty as well as a performer for the
Ameropa Chamber Music Festival in Prague, CZ. Her principal teachers
have been Mrs. Jeanne Scheneman, Dr. Emily Newbold, John Rautenberg,
Michel Debost and Kathleen Chastain. Currently, Veronica studies
with Robert Stallman, in Philadelphia and Kenneth Andrews at the
Crane School of Music in New York.
William Newman
William Newman attended the University of Michigan and holds degrees
from the University of Pittsburgh and Temple University where he
studied with Peter Segal. He has performed as soloist and as a
member of many chamber groups including the Newman-Ghezzi Guitar
Duo, the Philadelphia Guitar Ensemble, the Harry Partch Ensemble,
Opera Society of Philadelphia and the Network for New Music. Mr.
Newman can be heard on the recordings; Revelation in the Courthouse
Park and The Philadelphia Guitar Ensemble. Mr. Newman teaches at
Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania and privately in the
Philadelphia area. |
